Preparing for Blended Learning In 4 Steps.

The most effective blended learning design offers a learner-centered approach that is personalisable
and accessible (Baldwin-Evans, 2006).The teacher must be well-prepared.If he was not ,many errors may occur.Furthermore,Blended learning may be very expensive ,and consume time.We list here four steps the teacher can follow to prepare for successful blended learning .

 First Step

The teacher has  to focus on pedagogy. The teacher must identify the meaning of the  blended learning for him and  his students .They have to know the benefits of using it to be ready and helpful to use it . The teacher must use it properly;it must suits the course which is going to be taught, no technology for its own sake. preparing blended leaning must be  based on the course and subject matter, students'background, and activities the teacher will implement.

Second Step

There are huge amount of technological tools. The teacher has to choose which one will be used between them carefully. His choice must depend on the subject matter and students'needs. The technology and the activities must support the blended environment. Technology must be flexible;it must allow the students to be responsible for their own learning .Furthermore, blended learning will support activity monitoring by the teacher through learning analytics and electronic assignment submission.

Third Step

While you are preparing for blended learning , focus on the curriculum and the outcomes. Therefore, your activities and blended learning must not only suit the main purpose of the course but they must also suit the outcomes. For example,if you teach literature ,you have to focus also on writing  and reading skills, grammar rules, social relations ...etc .

Fourth Step

Try to create detailed syllabus which includes documented learning outcomes, descriptions of technology devices, clear delivery methods, explicit engagement opportunities, and assignments aligned with learning outcomes. That will help students  be more organised when they  deal with the content ,and will answer all their expected questions.
